Job Summary

As the Citizenship & Events Manager at Absa, your role encompasses a myriad of responsibilities aimed at nurturing community engagement and fortifying Absa’s dedication to social responsibility across diverse landscapes. Here are the key responsibilities:

Managing Citizenship Partnerships

Oversee all Absa Citizenship partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational values and objectives, both locally and internationally.

Driving Pan-African Citizenship Initiatives

Lead pan-African Citizenship initiatives to amplify Absa’s impact and presence throughout the continent.

Employee Engagement in Citizenship

Manage employee Citizenship schemes, ensuring active participation and engagement from all staff members.

Event Administration and Management

Administer and manage internal and external key events, ensuring seamless execution aligned with Absa’s values.

Public Image and Stakeholder Relations

Create a favorable public image for Absa in Citizenship realms, acting as a primary point of contact for related issues and fostering meaningful relationships with stakeholders.

As the Citizenship & Events Manager, your main accountabilities and approximate time split are as follows:

  • Providing Powerful Leadership (10%): Inspire and guide teams towards achieving Citizenship goals.
  • Employee Citizenship Involvement (30%): Encourage and facilitate employee participation in Citizenship initiatives.
  • Brand & Communication Agenda (20%): Develop and implement communication strategies to reinforce Absa’s brand and Citizenship agenda.
  • Citizenship Championship (30%): Champion Citizenship initiatives internally and externally.
  • Team-working (10%): Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive Citizenship objectives forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating Citizenship awards and charitable match-giving schemes.
  • Guiding Employee Volunteering and related activities.
