The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has been established as an independent public office. It was the Statistics Act, of 2015, which mandatedt NBS to be an independnt office. the National Bureau of Statistics  has the mandateto give sanctioned statistics to the Government, business community, and the public at large. 

NBS the responsibility is also to play the part of an act-coordinating agency. This role is specific in the National Statistical System ( NSS ). As the integrated part of the National Statistical System (NSS), National Bureau of Statistics ensures quality and valuable statistics are produced. 

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) initially was one of the Government Executive Agencies. The agency was established on the 26th of March 1999 under the Administrative Agencies Act, 1997. After the enactment of the Statistics Act of 2015, then it became an Independent Organization as it is today.

 VISION: To come to a one-stop center for detailed statistics in Tanzania. 

Aimed to have one trusted organization dealing with statistical data of the country. It was emphasized to reduce data misleading if it was managed by more than one institution.

 MISSION: To produce quality and detailed statistics and services. The aim is to give information that meets the requirements of public and investment stakeholders. This definitely makes planning and decision making easier. Simply because the data provided is qualified and processed effectively by the body.

The National Bureau of statistics (NBS) is the central main organ for all sanctioned statistics produced in Tanzania. Thus, the Organ is responsible for collection, analyzing, processing and publishing the statistical data. Specifically, the services offered by NBS, including 

 1. To collect data from different sources, analyze, publish, and distribute to stakeholders. All the procedures to obtain data from the fields are monitored from there.

 2. To conduct checks and give specialized advice on data, statistical data collection, processing, analysis, and dispersion of collected data whenever requested by a stoner/ stakeholder, 

 3. To develop awareness to the society about the data uses. Though we discuss this in very indirect way but it quite happens. People get to know how census data are used for. Thereby, then they can relate their projects to the data collections.

4. To give raw data for experimenters and other stakeholders. The data obtained from the operations like census are verry usefull. the census data are used to plan different development projects. you can ask yourself, Why the census is done in every country? It is because population number awareness is quite important to plan any project in the government work form.

 5. Prepare charts demanded jobschecks and counts. The national Bureau of Statstics (NBS) also prepare the employment status for the citizens. This makes awareness and helpfull projects planning strategies for gorvenment to help job seekers.

The form will be left to the inked by  leader ( ward or village chairperson). After the signing process is done then scan  your signed original form. The application should be col be completed online. All that’s needed is a softcopy to upload again online.

And by uploading it to the system, it shows you have completed the application. Else, you have wasted your free time. Remember the request is completed by submitting the application form online, the signed form!
